Library Materials Requests
Information and policies
- To make a request or for additional information contact the Circulation Desk at 734-973-3429.
- Items will normally be delivered to WCC campus offices, or held for pickup at the library,
within 24 hours of receiving the request (Monday through Friday).
- Items will be delivered sometime between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. It is not possible to schedule a delivery
at a particular time (although you can have your items held for pickup at the library instead.)
- There is a limit of ten items per request. All items will count towards Faculty and staff limits
on total number of items borrowed, and will receive the same loan period as if borrowed in person. All
normal borrowing rules apply to requested items (e.g. Reference, Reserve, or other special use items
cannot be delivered or held). AV materials will receive a loan period of one week. Periodicals may be
requested in conformance with limits on periodicals (see the
Borrow/Renew section for more
information).
- Search the library catalog for the call number and title of the items you are requesting -- we
need these to fill your request. If you need help in locating the items you want, call the reference
desk at 734-973-3431 for help. If you are requesting a periodical, please include complete issue
information instead of a call number.
- If items are delivered, they will be checked out on the library patron's account just before leaving
the library. Library patrons are responsible for the items on their account, including lost book charges.
For this reason, we require someone to sign for the items if delivered. If no one is available to sign
for the items, we will try to deliver once again during the same day if possible, and then the items
will be held at the library until the end of the next business day and an e-mail notification sent.
Library items will not be left in unattended offices or mailboxes.
